【Osaka Autumn Night Event 2025】Bamboo Lanterns & Maple Light-Up at Osaka Prefectural Flower Garden

For two nights only, Osaka will host one of its most atmospheric autumn events.
The Osaka Prefectural Flower Garden in Kawachinagano City will hold “Bamboo Lantern & Autumn Foliage Light-Up” on November 29 and 30, 2025, transforming the botanical garden into a glowing fall wonderland.

This popular night event, first held in 2017 and now returning for its 9th edition, blends handmade bamboo lanterns with illuminated maple trees, creating a beautifully serene and photogenic autumn evening.

🍁 A Botanical Garden with Seasonal Beauty

The Osaka Prefectural Flower Garden is known for its rose garden, clematis garden, large greenhouse, and seasonal landscapes that change throughout the year. During autumn, the garden becomes especially atmospheric with its vibrant maple trees.

✨ 200 Handmade Bamboo Lanterns Lighting Up the Night

This year’s light-up features:

  • Around 120 maple trees across 20 varieties, illuminated throughout the garden

  • Approximately 200 handmade bamboo lanterns placed across pathways and open spaces

  • Traditional Japanese-style umbrellas (wagasa) adding color and elegance

Together, they create a warm, magical glow that captures the essence of Japanese autumn nights.

🌉 “Momiji Valley” Light-Up

One of the highlights is Momiji Valley, the garden’s dedicated maple area.
The bridge over the valley and the surrounding maple trees will be lit up, offering one of the most picturesque views of the event.

🍽 Night-Only Menu & Food Trucks

The event also features special evening food options:

⭐ Hanabun Café (2nd floor of the greenhouse)

  • Regular menu + Potato Cheese Dog (event limited)

⭐ BALI COFFEE food truck

  • Fried chicken and warm snacks perfect for a chilly autumn night
