A brand-new Pokémon experience is coming to Tokyo.

PokéPark Kanto, the first-ever outdoor permanent Pokémon theme park, will officially open on February 5, 2026, inside Yomiuriland (Tokyo). This new park is created through a joint project between The Pokémon Company, Yomiuri Land Co., Ltd., and The Yomiuri Shimbun Tokyo Headquarters.

 

With two themed zones, interactive encounters, exclusive events, and limited-entry tickets, PokéPark Kanto is set to become one of Japan’s most anticipated attractions of 2026.

🌳 Explore the Wilderness of “Pokémon Forest”

The highlight of PokéPark Kanto is the Pokémon Forest, a 2.6-hectare natural adventure zone built around the lush Tama Hills landscape.

Visitors can enjoy:

• A 500-meter forest trail with uneven paths, grass areas, tunnels, and hidden spots

• Unique Pokémon habitats, each featuring characters with different expressions and poses

• Special photo moments, including certain Pokémon you can ride on

• An immersive "real Pokémon world" experience designed for both adults and children

Every step into the forest feels like starting a new Pokémon adventure.

🏙 “Kayatsuri Town” – Shops, Events & Attractions

The second major zone, Kayatsuri Town, recreates the lively atmosphere of a Pokémon game town.

Highlights include:

A real-world version of the iconic in-game healing facility, perfect for photos and merchandise shopping.

⭐ Themed Shops & Food

Exclusive goods, original drinks, snacks, and souvenirs available only inside PokéPark Kanto.

Because of high expected demand, PokéPark Kanto will start with lottery-based ticket sales.

📚 The History Behind PokéPark Kanto

The Yomiuri Group and Pokémon have collaborated for many years, including:

• The newspaper series “Let’s Learn Proverbs with Pokémon!” (since 2009)

• Special collaboration projects on idioms, expressions, dialects

• Pokémon Ryuo Battle Tournament, named after the prestigious shogi title “Ryuo”

• In December 2023, the three companies jointly established Godo Kaisha PokéPark・Kanto

PokéPark Kanto is the culmination of years of partnership, now expanding Pokémon into a physical, nature-based theme park.
