【Tokyo Christmas Advent 2025】Japan’s Largest Christmas Market Comes to Ueno Park for the First Time

One of Japan’s most beloved winter events is finally arriving in Tokyo.
The famous “Christmas Advent” from Fukuoka will make its Tokyo debut as “Tokyo Christmas Advent in Ueno Park”, held at Ueno Onshi Park (Hakubutsukan Mae Plaza) from November 19 to December 25, 2025.

Known for attracting over 12 million visitors in total, Christmas Advent is considered Japan’s biggest Christmas-themed event — and Tokyo visitors will now get to enjoy its full festive atmosphere for the very first time.

✨ A Christmas Experience Born in Fukuoka

Since its launch, Christmas Advent has taken place annually across Fukuoka’s Nakasukawabata and Meiji-dori districts, lighting up the city with illuminations, markets, concerts, and cultural performances.

With the concept of “experiencing Christmas with all five senses,” the event blends:

• shimmering winter lights

• European-style market stalls

• music, arts, and theatrical elements

In 2025, the event expands to Tokyo with the goal of offering not just a “look and buy” experience, but a full city-as-theatre cultural experience. Expect enchanting light installations, classical music, artistic performances, and exclusive Ueno Park merchandise — including a Tokyo-only Christmas Advent mug.

Twelve popular vendors from the Fukuoka event will join the Tokyo edition, bringing their famous winter comfort foods, such as:
